Our Senior Manager, Fundraising, Engagement and Partnerships is an important leader within our organization, supporting vulnerable individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness.
Founded in 1913, Evangel Hall Mission (EHM) is a multi-service agency that provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. EHM is home to over 160 individuals and families, living in our two subsidised apartment buildings. Residence staff offer support with eviction prevention, information and referral and community development. We also offer hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and respite from the elements through our Drop In Centre. Tenants and Drop In participants can access spiritual care, volunteer and employment opportunities, and voluntary financial trusteeship from EHM staff. They can also access a range of supports from community partners onsite at EHM, such as Narcotics Anonymous, vaccine clinics, nursing care, legal clinics, programs offered by Toronto Public Health and many more.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Fundraising, Engagement and Partnerships to join our team who cares about the same things. What you would bring to the role:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of recent relevant progressive experience including having a leadership role within an organization, preferably in a not-for-profit, broader public sector, second stage housing environment.
- Ability to generate plans to operationalize goals, and to oversee and manage activities and solutions in the immediate to longer term.
- Success leading by example, including mentoring others to build relevant skills and competencies to realize their full potential.
- Knowledge of fundraising, development, engagement, partnerships, volunteer, and student program standards and principles.
- Ability to write persuasive and influential content to drive fundraising campaigns and donor development activity
- Ability and skills in the areas of analysis, negotiation, conflict resolution, problem-solving and assessment.

What we would offer (a more detailed job description will be provided when invited to interview for the role):
You will work 37.5 hours per week, Mondays to Friday, with occasional requirements to work evenings and weekends to attend meetings.
You will be based out of our 552 Adelaide St West location in downtown Toronto. There may be requirements for you to attend our Portland Place location. The buildings are just 5 minutes walk from each other. There will also be occasional local travel to attend meetings, which can occur in the evening or possible on weekends.
A competitive annual salary in the range $80,000-$90,000, which will be determined based on your experience.

What you would bring to the role:
- Successful completion of a diploma or degree in business, accounting, social work, social services or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Online Rent Geared to Income Certificate (ONPHA) is an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant experience.
- Ability to implement plans in support of goals, through coordinated activities.
- Knowledge of rent and tenancy programs, standards and principles.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 and Housing Services Act, 2011.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and skills in the areas of coordination, administration, and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of NewViews accounting software is an asset.

- Knowledge of purchasing, asset and supply management to support the ongoing operations of EHM buildings which directly support those experiencing poverty.
- Ability and skills in the areas of negotiation, conflict resolution, problem-solving and assessment.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act are an asset.

Meet Nigel, Tenant Support Worker
What does Nigel like about working at ehm? Pretty much everything.
Initially a placement student, Nigel has transitioned to a permanent staff position. He sees ehm as a place where you can continuously learn and grow in your career, but also as a person.
Nigel shares that “everyone is focused on helping others and the feeling that we are all working toward the same goal is something incredible.” He says the management team is always striving to adapt and make things better for clients and staff. “That inspires me."
