a solo – “Jesus Bids us
Shine”. Marv talks about his
years of drug addiction,
living in the ravine, and of
how Jesus, in the form of
street nurses and outréach
workers, set him free. He
reads I John 4 and calls us
to love one another.
Now it is time to pray. The
worship leader leaves this
part out at her peril. The
people have come to express
their joys and sorrows to
God and to one another and
they cherish this
opportunity. They request
prayer for the people who
brought the food, for
children they have not seen
in years, for peace in the
Middle East, for the family
of a child murdered in the
city. A congregation that
visited us last week has
phoned and asked us to pray
for a bereaved family. And
God is in our midst. We
acknowledge, we celebrate
the presence of God. Now it
is time to go in peace.
Sunday worship takes place every week at 6:45 PM, following our community dinner which starts at 5:30PM |
