Youth Centre

The ehm Youth Centre provides a variety of free programs during the school year to serve the young people in our community. It offers a safe, fun environment for youth to relax, have a healthy snack, access resources and participate in enriching activities.

Homework Club

Students get help with homework, essays and projects in a supportive atmosphere that offers computer access, school supplies, and volunteer tutors for one-on-one assistance.

Monday 3:15 – 6:00pm

Boys Club

Boys (ages 9-13) and teenage mentors come together every Tuesday for a free club where they can play games, cook food, do art activities, learn life skills and build friendships.

Tuesdays 3:15 – 5:45pm

Just for Girls

Girls (ages 9-13) and teenage mentors gather every Wednesday for a free club where they can explore their creativity through visual and performing arts, learn life skills, and build friendships.

Wednesdays 3:15 – 5:45pm

Youth Drop-in

Youth (aged 12-21) are welcome to come on Thursdays after school for recreational fun. Games such as pool, ping pong, foosball and Wii are available, as well as art supplies, musical instruments and computers.

Transit for Teens

In-School Programs: In the Transit

For Teens program ehm partners with local TDSB high schools to support approximately 50 students at risk of failure, due to financial need and high rates of absenteeism, This successful program provides mentoring, advocacy, tutoring and TTC tokens.

The students on the program commit to attending school and meet weekly with the Youth Program Coordinator to discuss their progress in working towards their academic and personal goals. Students on the program also have access to extra support such as counseling and free tutoring.

Outside the Lines

A week-long residential arts and leadership camp for teenage girls (aged 14-19). For more information about Outside the Lines, click here to download our brochure. Here is a link to the OTL application form.

Jump into Summer Day Camp

Children 7-13 years old can spend the first weeks of summer at this day camp, based out of the ehm Youth Centre. The children spend their days discovering the free and fun activities that Toronto has to offer in the summertime, including pools, parks, libraries and galleries. Breakfast and lunch are provided. This program is offered free of charge.

Teen Guys Camptacular

A multi-day camping trip for teen boys (aged 13-18). The guys spend their trip sleeping in tents and trying activities such as hiking, canoeing, swimming, climbing and fishing. All camping equipment is provided. This program is offered free of charge.

Counseling and Advocacy

The Youth Program Coordinator is available to students in the partner high schools and youth living in the ehm residence and in the community at large to meet and offer support on a wide range of issues. This work involves helping young people find safe and affordable housing, access social services and navigate employment searches.

School Supplies for Students

Donations of school supplies are solicited and distributed to local elementary and high schools and to participants in ehm’s youth programs. These items give students in financial need the tools to ensure a successful school year.
