...Evangel Hall Mission: A
special place for
more than 90 years
|
 |
Since 1913, Evangel Hall Mission has been addressing the needs of disadvantaged and homeless men, women and youth in the Queen and Bathurst Area. Over the years we have
grown from being a traditional “soup kitchen” into a full service agency with multiple
programs to meet the growing needs of our community members.
Our mission is to build community with poor, homeless and socially isolated people through
support services, housing and advocacy. We aim to see people reach their full potential and
achieve emotional, spiritual, physical health and well-being. |

Affordable Housing...
Evangel Hall Mission has become a model in which people live in safe, supportive housing
that fosters human dignity by teaching people to do what they can for themselves and
giving them opportunities to reach out to others. People are helped to progress from
dependence to independence to helping others. We have seen this happen with a
number of our 130 residents who have once been homeless (or at risk), but now have a
permanent address and hope for a future.. |
 |
 |
Homelessness can be prevented or reduced through
effective community outreach and affordable
housing. To meet the growing need, Evangel
Hall Mission’s new facility not only allows us to
expand our programming, but also provides 84
new addresses for our residents – a much-needed
resource in the Toronto area.
* 84 units of transitional supportive housing
* All units are fully-furnished with private
washrooms and kitchens
* Partnership with COTA Health, a social services
organization that provide on-site support for
residents with mental health issues
* Tenant support workers who assist all tenants
with day-to-day living, providing life skills training
counselling and advocacy
* A fully-equipped teaching kitchen to assist
residents with cooking and life-skills |

“Evangel Hall has become a very special place for me. From the bright smile of the
doorman, to a warm cup of soup and coffee that warms my soul. At Evangel Hall Mission, I get to
meet with my friends and share time and stories. I get to start my day right. Thank you, “ says Brenda, a regular visitor to our drop-in centre.
