The Evangel Hall
Housing Assistance
Program’s mission is
to help homeless,
under-housed and
unsuitably housed
people find
appropriate housing
or shelter. In
mid-January a thirty
year old man named
Bob, from out of
town, living on the
street, doorways,
and donut shops, saw
our housing worker
for assistance.
Without
identification Bob
could not obtain
Ontario Works toward
rent and suffering
from an apparent
mental health
condition, was
unable to obtain
housing even if he
had public
assistance. Our
housing worker got
Bob into a short
term treatment
centre. In
coordination with
the treatment centre
and subsequent |

shelter staff, our housing
worker was able to obtain
sufficient identification
for Bob, Ontario Works and a
room to rent within a month
of becoming known to us.
Not all people who come to
us for assistance have such
a successful outcome, due to
a variety of factors.
Nonetheless, working with
other Evangel Hall programs
and other agencies, we are
able to help a substantial
number of people to improve
their living situation.
Housing Assistance is available by appointment. Please contact Charlie Diamond at
